Can I take the title Queen of Lip Balms?
I’m doing it. Lip Balm Queen, comin’ atcha!
From my early teens, I have been obsessive when it comes to having something on my lips at all times. The feeling of dry, chapped lips just doesn’t fly with me. I loathe it. No, No, NO!
Sometimes I feel like I’ve tried everything on the market, and because of that, I consider myself something of an expert when it comes to deciphering the best lip conditioning products available. Finding a product that isn’t sticky but hydrates the lips without wearing off in an hour is like finding a needle in a haystack. But I can solve this problem with two words: Kari Gran.
Housed in a pretty little pot with a gold lid is a decadent elixir with a custard-like consistency…the Lip Whip. Three little containers with this precious pout potion in the shades Radiant (a fresh baby pink), Rosie Gold (a peachy champagne), and Jeannie (a rich berry) just beckon to be swiped!
The texture is so buttery an rich yet maintains a lightweight feel. What is this sorcery?! Calling it a ‘lip whip’ is the only appropriate name for it. The texture is just magical. What’s even more interesting to me is the ingredients list. It’s nothing I haven’t seen in a lip balm before, yet somehow they have transformed these ingredients into something so light, hydrating, and dessert-like!
All of the shades are ultra-flattering on my skin tone, but honestly I can see these working on most people. Both Radiant and Rosie Gold are more sheer, but Jeannie can be built up to look more opaque like a glossy lipstick. Whether worn alone or coupled with a lipstick or gloss, these are one of the most lovely lip conditioning products I’ve used in a long time.
Ingredients: castor seed oil, beeswax, sunflower oil, camellia seed oil, olive oil, calendula extract, pigments (mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, carmine), tocopherol, and peppermint oil
*Note: these were kindly gifted, thoughts are my own.
