Elate: Capsule Palette + Lippie

One of my initial mascaras I tried when switching to clean beauty belonged to none other than Elate. The bamboo packaging called out to me initially, and the formula kept me coming back for it’s long wear time and bold look.

It comes as no surprise that when I saw the bamboo palettes, I absolutely pined over having one! Eco-chic, super sleek, and customizable – all things that are an artists dream! There are 3 different sized palettes to choose from: the capsule palette, the medium palette, and the pro palette. I chose the capsule palette which can hold two large pans like a blush or bronzer, 4 eyeshadows and a larger pan, or 8 eyeshadows total. I opted for 4  pressed eyeshadows and a highlighter.

The shades I chose were Sweet, a milky cool matte pink; Beloved, a medium matte pink-toned brown; Rise, a deep shimmering cocoa; Stillness, a charcoal black; and Opal, a cool pink toned highlighting powder.

The formulas are so finely milled and easy to blend. I chose shades that are predominantly matte with the exception of Rise to create a really classic eye look. Think something a bride would wear: colors that look great with everything in your wardrobe, casual enough for daytime wear but with some dark shades to transition to night. Stillness (the charcoal black) is beautiful as a smoky shadow, but works well as a soft liner for daytime, too.

I absolutely love the Opal Highlighter! In recent years I’ve opted for cream formulas, so this is a real treat! It is easy to work with and is buildable for as much wattage as is desired. It’s also perfect for layering over cream/liquid highlighters for extra bling if that’s your thing. It also makes a beautiful eyeshadow and plays well with the other shades I chose for my palette.

Out of sheer curiosity (and because the etched bamboo packaging is just too pretty), I got one of the lipsticks. I chose the shade Blush, a beautiful pink rose color. The formula is so soft once it touches your lips; it applies easily and wears for a long time. This color really brightens up my face, and pairs well with the eyeshadow colors I chose for my palette, too.

As if I need more reasons to love Elate, get this: each individual eyeshadow pan comes in a small cardboard sleeve that has wildflower seeds in them! Simply plant the cardboard to grow your own little wildflower garden!
