There’s nothing like a shimmering highlighter to show off your bone structure and make you look fresh and healthy. I can’t stop reaching for Ghost Light by Rituel de Fille*. It’s a pearlescent illuminator that gives me a candlelit glow no matter what light I’m in. I really love how it can be amped up to add a megawatt glow or add a subtle sheen that gives off the ‘is that highlighter?’ vibe.
Rituel de Fille makes some seriously pigmented products; they’re like playing with oil paints on your face. Everything I’ve used by this brand is ultra concentrated, which is really nice so you don’t have to use a ton of product to get a strong color pay off, however, you can always sheer out the products via blending or some face oil to give a softer finish. I love a line with versatility!
But back to Ghost Light. It’s described as opalescent; a cool toned pink with violet-blue shift; I feel that’s accurate. Part of why I love this shade so much is that it isn’t a warm-toned highlighter, so you get an extra pop against your skin tone without having to cake on product. Another bonus is this can be applied with fingertips (my preferred method); the warmth from your fingertips allows it to melt easily into your skin.
If you read my post about cream blush, I really like a cream highlighter for similar reasons; it blends easily into your skin sans brushes/tools and adds a beautiful glow thanks to the first ingredient being jojoba oil (bonus for some TLC!…jojoba has been touted as being the closest oil to our natural skin oils).
I apply this to the top of my cheek bones, down the center of my nose and above my lip, a little on my brow bones, and sometimes in the center of my lid for a hint of iridescence.
