Leahlani Skincare

If I had my own spa, it would be stocked with Leahlani products. Each product transports me to the island of Hawaii with their raw textures and delicate tropical scents. Wrapped in frosted glass and sealed with golden lids, each product is created with the intent to bless your skin with the richest botanical elements found in nature. Each product has left me absolutely in awe…I don’t say that lightly. Truly, I have fallen madly in love with this line.

The first Leahlani product I ever saw was the Mermaid Mask. My thoughts upon seeing this emerald green gem: “What is all over that persons face, and where do I sign up?!”  The first ingredient is raw Hawaiian honey (an ingredient that graces a large portion of Leahlani products). Honey is anti-bacterial, making it a welcome ingredient for acne sufferers. It is also a humectant, meaning it draws moisture into the skin. The Mermaid Mask is brimming with phyto-nutrient packed spirulina and chlorella which give this mask it’s rich green color and impart a dose of antioxidants to the skin. Illite and kaolin clays detox the skin, purging impurities. A host of oils like seabuckthorn and a smattering of essential oils leave the skin soft and supple. If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop kind of mask, this pretty little number will be your new best friend!

The Meli Illuminating Nectar mask smells like a tropical guava smoothie! It is so sweet and delectable, you might be tempted to lick it. Honestly, you probably could because the ingredients are so pure, however I will advise you save this beauty for your face! Again, the ingredients start with raw Hawaiian honey and some kaolin clay which hydrate and purify the skin. Then there’s a whole host of tropical fruits like acai, papaya, and strawberry which utilize enzymes to gently reveal soft baby skin (no burning sensation here!) Hyaluronic acid plumps the skin. Meli Glow leaves you with the most soft, supple skin, you’ll wonder if you even need moisturizer afterwards!

Honey Love Microdermabrasion Exfoliator gently buffs the skin with natural crystals and nourishes with – you guessed it – honey! This exfoliator contains maqui berry and noni fruit, two superfoods that have anti-inflammatory properties as well as contain high levels of antioxidants. The exfoliation approach is twofold: the crystals physically polish the skin, while hibiscus flower’s natural acids to help speed cell turnover. To round things out, lavender and chamomile oils soothe the skin. Exfoliation reduces breakouts, as well as evens the skintone and brightens for a fresh glow.

I’m a jasmine fiend, so the Aloha Ambrosia is my kind of product! I would buy it for the scent alone, but I actually really love how it moisturizes as well. It preps and primes your skin in the morning with hydrating oils and aloe. It’s also antioxidant rich because of the mangosteen, guava, and passionfruit oils. Jasmines uplifting scent starts the day on a high note. This is the perfect amount of hydration without being heavy or greasy. Once it soaks in, it’s the perfect canvas for applying makeup.

I’m a huge fan of oil cleansing because it breaks down makeup and doesn’t leave my face feeling tight. The Pamplemousse Tropical Enzyme Cleanser doesn’t disappoint! It smells absolutely divine like a pina colada and leaves my face so silky soft! The predominant oil is macadamia seed oil which is high in skin softening omega 9, and sunflower seed oil which is high in vitamin e. It also contains pineapple and papaya enzymes which gently exfoliate to brighten the skin. It’s such a treat at the end of the day.

Delicate sensitive skin, this one’s for you. The Champagne Serum  is made from antioxidant rich grapeseed oil which is light but moisturizing and contains lots of soothing ingredients like blue tansy and chamomile. I can attest to the potency of this particular serum: I had a bad reaction to a face mask from another line and a few drops of this brought my red irritated skin back to it’s happy place. If you have reactive skin, this will calm it.

Siren Serum is perfect for brightening up complexions thanks to an abundance of vitamin c dense seabuckthorn oil. Carrot seed oil is also known for it’s skin lightening properties and is high in vitamin a. It’s accompanied by citrus oils like sweet orange and pink grapefruit among the many which give it a bright, cheery scent. This particular oil has a very tonic-like effect. On my skin, I use it as a base and apply some of the Bless balm on top for more moisture.

The Kalima Cleansing Powder is a 3 in 1 product: a creamy cleanser, an exfoliator, and a gentle mask. When mixed with a little water, you can create a thicker exfoliating paste, and by increasing the water to powder ratio you create a creamy cleanser. Leave it on for a few minutes to dry, and now it’s a purifying clay mask. It’s made with coconut milk which softens the skin and with camu camu fruit which contains high levels of vitamin c to brighten the skin. It also contains hibiscus, which is known to have a botox like effect on the skin as well as gently exfoliating with it’s natural acids.

Bless Beauty Balm is truly a special product. Initially, I thought it would feel super oily and heavy because it’s made with shea and cacao butters followed by a variety of oils, but when I swiped my finger across the pot I knew it was different. The texture is lightweight and dewy, and it smells like a delicate flower thanks to neroli. Neroli has anti-inflammatory properties which is beneficial to acne prone skin and it’s also regenerative which helps with fine lines. Blue tansy is also anti-inflammatory and calming. It also contains marula oil which contains fatty acids and vitamin c. Applying the contents of this little pot has quickly become a favorite ritual of mine! It doesn’t leave a greasy residue and preps my skin for the day (or before bed!) It can even be used as a cleansing balm to remove makeup or as a lip balm.

You know those yummy little orange cream filled chocolates? That’s what the Kokoleka Mask smells like! This mask is fantastic for purging your skin of impurities and intensely nourishing too! It’s made with four different types of clay and charcoal to deep cleanse your pores, but at the same time it contains hydrating cacao, aloe, and coconut milk so your skin isn’t stripped of moisture. While it’s on, you experience a mild tingling effect (don’t worry, it isn’t uncomfortable at all). Once dry and washed off, your skin is left feeling fresh and lifted thanks to the caffeine containing coffee bean extract. This is fantastic for acne prone or combination skin in need of a rebalancing act.

Leahlani skincare will have you feeling like an island goddess in no time. I simply cannot get enough of their products!
