I am a forever fan of concealer. Yes ma’am, please and thank you. Eternally blessed with purple half moons under my eyes, concealer makes a world of difference in my daily appearance. You could say it’s my ride or die, gotta have it product. Literally I go from looking tired and sickly to fresh faced; it’s that big of a deal.
Concealer is one of those products that’s also incredibly versatile. It gives the ability to brighten up areas of the face without utilizing a shimmery highlighter; it can mask acne, and of course camouflage dark circles. For people who don’t like to look ‘made up’ but still want to use something, this is the product for you.
Enter Clove + Hallow’s Conceal and Correct. I chose shade 02. For me, this is a perfect shade that will transition from summer through winter: it’s more brightening while I have a little more color, but isn’t too dark for when my skin lightens up either. This concealer comes in 10 shades total. It has a doe-foot applicator, great for targeted application. It conceals individual spots or can cover a larger area with a few swipes.
What impressed me the most is that this concealer has full coverage (think MAC-like in comparison to conventional products) but feels light and airy. It dries quickly meaning you need to work fast, and it has a matte finish without feeling chalky on the skin. If you have a drier skin texture, I would recommend letting a moisturizer sink in beforehand. I like having options in terms of coverage, and the Conceal and Correct checks off my heavy coverage needs. I can easily forgo foundation on quick makeup days in favor of a few dabs of this. Because it’s so dry and matte in texture, I can also get away without using any setting powder over it. It provides budge-proof all day wear! This is a makeup staple for me.
